Werkha - Cube & Puzzle

My buddy Windslo, just sent over this new EP from his buddy in the UK who makes music as Werkha. Sharing music really is a thing of beauty. There’s something about getting a music recommendation that ends up being really good, that is so satisfying. Maybe because it’s often in stark contrast to the terrible feeling you’ll get when you get a really bad music recommendation.

Anyway, Werkha certainly has some elements that are familiar to us. There’s no hiding the influence of people like James Blake, but there’s something fresh about the way Werkha brings these pitched vocals, deep synths and bouncing bass. Just wait for the second song, Le Riotelet that uses original vocals you could swear were samples from a 1950’s era Parisian lounge singer.
