Twin Shadow - Five Seconds
Don’t miss some of the back story on his blog!
Confess LP is out on 4AD on July 10th.
God, his voice sounds fantastic here. A new summer song. I’ll need to take a few more listens to digest, but I love that he has perfected this revived, 80s synth-pop sound.

mr. little jeans- runaway (wavves remix)
You may know Mr. Little Jeans (an alias that Monica Birkenes, her birth name, took from a character in Wes Anderson’s film Rushmore) as the Norwegian singer — but now residing in London — who did that stunning cover of Arcade Fire’s “The Suburbs” (if you haven’t heard it yet, click…

Uncle Skeleton - The Well-Tempered Albi
Now normally I would be skiddish about a track that sample a cat’s meow… for fear of a something like this video. However what this track is, is something to be listened too. It’s also one that sneaks up on you in the sense of you find yourself listening to it ten times over to find all of the little neuances of how the cat’s meow was shaped and tastefully placed.
You can download this plus 2 tracks along with 3 remixes of this track for free on his bandcamp, just as an fyi I would listen to TB 2.2 as well.

can’t stop listening
XXYYXX - TIED2U
16 year old producer Marcel Everett just released his second album. The self-titled work is extremely cohesive, especially for such a young producer. When he’s not using TLC samples, he enlists the help of two great female vocalists - Steffaloo and London’s Anneka. On both tracks the vocals add wonders to the tracks Marcel has produced.
TIED2U, however, is the track that jumped out at me the most. Those forlorn Jon Brion vocals, dipped in molasses. It washes over you, and drags you to a place of wistful introspection. Already, at the age of 16, Marcel is transcending mere beats, and getting the listener to feel something.
